What is Plexiglas®

Plexiglas®: transparent perfection

Plexiglas® is a brand name that is used for the chemical composition ‘Poly(methyl methacrylate)’ or PMMA. In the Netherlands, the product is often called ‘Perspex’ and in France is known as ‘Altuglas’. Distriplex sells the Plexiglas® brand and also uses this plastic in all applications produced in-house, including display cases, hoods, pedestals and trophy cabinets. For us, PMMA is the material that started everything.

Why acrylic and not simply glass?

  • It is lighter and thus more practical
  • It does not shatter and is safer
  • It is multifunctional and easy to produce in all forms
  • It allows more light to pass through than standard glass

Distriplex stocks the largest range of acrylic. Opal cast, satin finish or scratch resistant? We have all types, all colours and all versions.

Curious about what our Plexiglas® can offer your project? Take a look at our products; they speak for themselves!
